Jackie is an artist living in Alexandria, Virginia. She has lived throughout Virginia and enjoys visiting the state parks, galleries, and towns of Virginia. She looks to her surroundings, knowledge of people and the world, and art history when making art. Jackie began painting during a time of change in her life, almost 30 years ago, and continued to explore art-making in various forms beyond painting. She is currently working with hot wax, paper, and textiles. Jackie is also revisiting painting with acrylics. She has learned that art-making offers an opportunity to shift perspectives. During periods of change, which can sometimes be stressful, it is helpful and healing to spend time creating.
